Hang a message on the leafs of a Digital Poetree and let the wind deliver it..
The Digital Poetree is planted on the Industrial park DRU, in Ulft. A digital, social and interactive work of art. Everyone can walk around it. It makes use of Augmented Reality; a technique applied to put a layer on top of physical reality that can be viewed by using a smartphone.
By tapping a leaf, a message can be written and even addressed to someone you know. After 24hours the leaf will blow off the tree to a yet unknown destination. The destination of the leaf will be determined by the real-time direction and speed of the wind. The sender and receiver of the message will be notified by mail where the leaf has landed. On Google Maps and in Streetview the leaf can be seen and the message read. Augmented Reality enables the viewer to discover the leaf on the final destination and a comment can be left.
